Elden Ring Runes players have discovered numerous ways to smack one another in PVP but one ploy that was discovered on PC was particularly dangerous. It let players trap their opponents in a perpetual death loop , which could ruin their save files. It was not ideal! Thankfully, the developer FromSoftware finally addressed the bug by releasing a small update for the game that went live earlier in the day.
"Fixed a bug in multiplayer that permitted players to teleport other players to incorrect map coordinates," reads one of the notes in the mini-1.03.2 patch. Bandai Namco didn't elaborate on how the bug was fixed and if players who misused it would be banned or what could happen to players who it was already being used on. The publisher didn't immediately respond to a request to comment.
It was a PSA by an Elden Ring news account warning players about the exploit blew up on Twitter last week , March 18. "There's an exploit currently being distributed on PC which allows hackers to alter your save file while you're invaded," it read. "First they'll shut down your game. When you try to open it up again, your character will be always falling to their deaths. ..."
The attack involved teleporting unwitting players to areas that were out of bounds on the map. They could die in a matter of minutes. The game was then reloaded and led to the same result. It wasn't clear how players were doing it , or the extent of the issue, but many people affected by the exploit shared footage of their predicament on the internet.
They also offered possible workarounds that included pressing Alt and F4 to stop the game, allowing some extra time after it was restarted for players to access the map and attempt to escape the loop. It's not known if that worked for everyone affected however, or if the current patch will aid those who have already fallen victim to this Elden Ring "prank."
Since the game's release, best place to buy elden ring items has already been through two major updates and has sold over 12 million copies. In addition, the players are still finding all kinds of wild stuff buried in its haunting and occasionally broken open world. For instance, the ability to make your horse fly after defeating it.
